ABOUT
From our inception, Brazen Sports has committed to partnering with leading individuals and organizations such as Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS). Quality, Service and Value are the guiding principle behind every Brazen Sports timepiece. Our “BeBrazen” spirit to Dream Big, Face Your Fears and Live a Brazen Lifestyle - Personally, Academically, and Athletically is designed to drive inspiration in every direction. Our mission for these timepieces marks those special moments in life that make memories last a lifetime. For some, a quality timepiece passed down to each generation, will provide memories and a constant reminder of the important role (EANGUS) plays as a frontline advocate of our National Guard Troops, and their families in need.
The 54 By 24 BeBrazen.org fund-development campaign, along with 9/11 Edition Time Peace-Keepers series, is Brazen Sports 1st nationwide effort to raise upwards of 1 million dollars to support EANGUS and pair Service Dogs for Veterans in need. Started by the National Guard Association of Michigan (NGAM) 100% of State/Territory Raffle donations in our BeBrazen efforts is collected/safeguarded by the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States, (EANGUS). Upon achieving 100% Raffle Ticket Sales will be donated to Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc. Each State/Territory TAG will select 1 of the 200 names per State/Territory for a total of 54 + 1 Suicide Prevention Ambassador / nominees, or what we’re calling ”EANGUS Time Peace-Keeper” Awards.
SERVICE DOGS SAVE LIVES
A 2018 Department of Defense suicide report demonstrated the unique challenge combating suicide has become for our service members and Veterans. The suicide rate for active-duty members averages 24.8 deaths per 100,000 personnel; in the National Guard the death rate is 30.6 per 100,000 service members. As a predominately part-time force, Guard members face stressors in both their military and civilian capacities that far too often go unnoticed due to the infrequent interactions with leaders or others that they feel can understand their struggles. NGAM, together with EANGUS and Brazen Sports has resolved to be a part of the solution by raising awareness and sponsoring medical dogs nationwide. Together we can help our service members suffering with mental health issues, specifically those with PTSD.
THE SUCCESS OF SERVICE DOGS
Companionship is critical! Evidence shows that compared to drug therapy and counseling, service members and Veterans often have lower PTSD symptomology, reduced depression, and increased social participation when paired with a medical service dog that is fully trained to mitigate a person's visible and invisible disabilities. While the use of service dogs is scientifically proven to be a better option in most cases, the VA has limited ability to pay and prescribe a service dog. Some Veterans are eligible under the 2021 PAWS Act; however, in most cases the individual has the responsibility to find a credible source for a medically qualified dog and often have to pay for the training.
Be a part of the solution by sponsoring the BeBrazen effort to raise awareness and the prevention of suicide by participating in our efforts to sponsor service dogs and together we can unleash the power to heal.
God Bless America.
